Pihlajasaari is made up of two islands connected by a small bridge, popular among sunbathers. The beautiful scenery attracts thousands of people to the islands every summer. Pihlajasaari is a sunbather's dream, full of lovely beaches. The best beach is on the western shore of the island and has changing rooms and showers. You can also take in the sun or go swimming at the islands' many smooth rock shores. Many of the rocks have had names and messages carved into them in a number of languages, greetings from some of the tourists and fishermen who have visited the islands. The easternmost of the two islands also has a naturist beach on it. Pihlajasaari is full of stunning scenery and sunshine. There is a regular boat connection with the mainland; the boats dock at and depart from the southern peak of Helsinki, near the Monument of the Seafarers.
